  3. While it is true that there is an extremely small risk of Guillain-Barre syndrome from receiving the flu shot, there is actually a somewhat larger risk of Guillain-Barre from getting the actual flu. Unless you have a history of the disease, you should get the flu shot to decrease your risk.
