6.20.17 – In 1936, American athlete Jesse Owens broke the 100m world record with a 10.2 second sprint at the NCAA Track & Field Championships in Chicago, Ill. He went on to win four Olympic Gold Medals (100m, 200m, 4x100m, and Long Jump) at the summer games in Berlin, Germany that year, and his 100m world record stood for 20 years.
