For the 8th consecutive year, nurses from Advocate Health Care boarded buses to the State Capitol in Springfield to share their opinions on a number of policy issues critical to nursing. Nearly 80 nurses met with more than 40 state legislators and Governor Pat Quinn during the daylong event. A passionate advocate for nurses, Laurie Riek, a nurse at Advocate Condell Medical Center, attended for the 5th straight year.  “Our voices are being heard in Springfield,” Riek said.

Here’s a snapshot from Laurie’s day.
