Need this installed? You can get help virtually

Car seat installation can be a difficult process. But by following these simple tips and setting up a virtual car seat check, you and your child will be safely on your way.

  • Make sure your child is in the most appropriate seat for their age, weight and height. This information is specified on the side of every car seat. It’s preferred to use the five-point harness system as long as possible with the chest clip right at armpit level and the harness straps just tight enough oer the shoulders so you can’t pinch any extra webbing.
  • Be sure not to have any additional items (mats, mirrors, etc.) in or around the car seat as they interfere with the safety and installation.
  • Illinois state law requires children 2 and under to travel in a rear-facing position, and the America Academy of Pediatrics recommends children travel in a rear-facing position for as long as their car seat height and weight recommendations allow.
  • If you have any questions or need assistance with installation, call our car seat hotline at (708) 684-7019. We are making virtual car seat appointments to help visually and verbally walk you through the installation process. These 30-minute appointments are over Zoom and are a fantastic way to get hands-on experience installing your own seats while still receiving advice all while social distancing.
