  1. I found these tips very helpful! After cleaning the kitchen, I spray my sponges with a bleach cleaner and place them in the dishwasher in the space for flatware for daily cleaning!!

  2. As a registered nurse I am often the one to harp on others to ask “did you wash your hands?” Whether it is after the bathroom or before eating, I want to ensure they have clean hands. I appreciated the awareness your article brought, but feel it is unsafe what you are advising. You stopped short of the full instructions. Those disinfectant wipes you speak of, are filled with harsh chemicals that will, indeed, kill bacteria…If user as directed. Have you read the instructions on the label? You will find that you have to keep the surface wet with solution for 4 minutes to get the desired disinfecting/sanitizing. And if you are going to be placing food on surface just cleansed with these wipes, you must wash with water after the wipes. Many don’t use them incorrectly and are exposing themselves and their families to unneeded chemicals.

I recommend and sell Norwex products: high quality microfiber with microsilver in cloth. With just water and a Norwex enviro cloth, you mechanically pick up the dangerous bacteria and proteins and then rinse it down the drain. No need to use chemicals! Maybe consider researching this, a great alternative to dangerous chemicals.

  3. I was surprised that electric can openers were not on the list.
